The men’s race is also known as the ‘sprinters world championships’. A realistic scneario for the 136 km long women’s race, but the riders representing Grant Thorton-Krush Bikes-Tunap Sports are prepared for other race outcomes as well.

After the start in the centre of Schoten at 11.10 CET, the riders first have to negotiate a long opening loop close to the Dutch border, passing towns like Sint-Job-in-‘t-Goor, Brecht, Loenhout, Hoogstraten and Rijkevorsel. Eventually the Krush Bikes of Melanie Klement, Quinty Ton, Nienke Wasmus, Melissa van Neck, Clara Lundmark and Daniek Hengeveld will enter the 16 km local circuit, which will be ridden 3,5 times before finishing on the Churchilllaan.

“It will be a very hectic race, even more so because of the weather. During the race, communication and alertness will be crucial. In de finishing loops in Schoten, small details can make all the difference. For us it will be all about operating as a team and grab the opportunities wherever possible.”

Fans of the Grant Thornton-Krush Bikes-Tunap Sports team sadly aren’t allowed alongside the road. However, the race can be seen live via Eurosport, GCN, Sporza and Proximus from about 11.45 CET. The finish is expected between 14.30 and 15.00 CET.
