Setmana Ciclista Valenciana first stage race Biehler Krush Pro Cycling
The Setmana Ciclista Valenciana (February 20-23) promises to be a stage race with a lot of climbing. Biehler Krush Pro Cycling will use this race to work on form and to get experience in these kind of races.
The first stage race of the season commences with a 103 km stage from Gandia to Cullera. The road rises just after the start and along the way awaits the Alto de Beniganim (3rd category). After rounding the top it’s a 25 km downhill to the intermediate sprint. The final 50 km will be flat.
The second stage is the queen’s stage with no less than four climbs in 126 km. The Puerto de la Carresqueta (2), Puerto de Benifallim (1), Puerto de Tudons (1) and the Puerto de Finestrat will make this an intense day. The Puerto de Finestrat will be the finishing climb.
The Puerto de l’Oronet (2) will be the main obstacle on day 3, a 94 km stage between Valencia en Port de Sagunt. After reaching the summit it will be about 70 kilometres to the finish line.
The final stage will be a real strength-zapper. During the 140 km stage from Betxí to Vila-Real a total of four serious climbs need to be conquered. After the Puerto del Marianet (3), Puerto de Eslida (2), Puerto de Ahín (2) and the Puerto Salto del Caballo (1) it will be a 40 km downhill drag to the finish.
All four stages of the Setmana Ciclista Valenciana will be broadcasted via Sportpublic TV’s YouTube channel. The first stage will finish between 16.00 and 16.30 CET, stage two between 16.45 en 17.15 CET. The third day will have an early finish, somwhere between 13.20 and 13.45 CET, whereas the final stage will finish between 14.30 and 15.00 CET.
