Melanie Klement 14th in first race Biehler Krush Pro Cycling
Biehler Pro Cycling’s first race of the season, the Vuelta CV Feminas ended in a bunch sprint. Melanie Klement was the first rider over the line: she sprinted to a 14th place.
Klement is happy with her result. She says: “I’m going to be honest, my last two seasons were hard and disappointing, so I’m very happy to finally be able to sprint in a UCI race again. I think the team did a really good job today, we rode sharp and alert. Quinty, Laura and me made another step in riding a final.”
Although Klement is happy with the performance, she sees room for improvement as well. “We lost each other a bit in the hectic final kilometre. We arrived just a little too late for the sprint, so I feel like there was a better result possible. But it’s a start and I’m very happy with it!”
In her very first race for the team, Laura van Regenmortel finished in 21st place, whereas Quinty Ton finished in 25th. Nienke Wasmus crossed the line in 35th place and in her first outing for the team, Senna Feron finished 90th. Henrietta Colborne sadly didn’t finish the race because of bad luck.
The next race for Biehler Krush Pro Cycling wil be the Setmana Ciclista Valenciana (February 20-23).
