Biehler Krush Pro Cycling ready for brutal Belgian opening weekend

Cobbles, hills, wind and rain: the classic Belgian opening weekenpromises to be spectacular. Biehler Krush Pro Cycling will be racing both the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and the Omloop het Hageland with a motivated team.

The Omloop Het Nieuwsblad will be a very special race for Maike van der Duin. The youngest member of the team will be making her pro debut. As a junior, she won the sprint classification in the Healthy Ageing and the final stage of the Omloop van Borsele, among many other races. Then, she felt for the next step in her career. With Biehler Krush Pro Cycling she’ll be making that step.

In the 126.5 km long Omloop Het Nieuwsblad ten steep, mostly cobbled hills await. The cobbles of the Haaghoek and the Paddestraat will test the riders as well before finishing in Ninove. The Omloop Het Nieuwsblad will be broadcasted via a Proximus livestream.

One day later the Omloop van het Hageland opens the Lotto Cycling Cup. This 130 km race start with a 55 ride via two cobbled sectors to a finishing loop that has to be negotiated five times. The Roeselberg and the Kiekebosstraat will be the main obstacles in this loop. Motomediateam will as always take care of broadcasting of this race.

In both races, Biehler Krush Pro Cycling’s line-up will be almost identical. Nienke Wasmus will join the team only for the Omloop van het Hageland.
